The Rigali Lab - Streptomyces Genetic and Development
Initially focused solely on antibiotic resistance, I expanded the research scope at the Center for Protein Engineering to encompass a broad range of topics related to the molecular and environmental biology of filamentous actinobacteria. Our research now addresses areas such as carbon source utilization, sporulation, the initiation of secondary (specialized) metabolism, metal homeostasis, programmed cell death, drug discovery, cave microbiology, and plant pathogenesis. We employ a multidisciplinary approach that integrates genetics, biochemistry, omics technologies, bioinformatics, and structural biology.
